Other activities throughout the day include an archery range, a vintage military vehicle display and dance lesson taster sessions as well as 'Pete’s War Time Show' and the chance to sing-a-long to wartime classics with Victory Gal Melissa.
Vintage homewares and clothing will be on offer at the Halfpenny Antique and Vintage Centre’s pop-up shop and Lil’s Parlour will be serving ‘tea for the troops’ from her mobile 1940s inspired tearoom.
Highlights of the day will include an opportunity to meet regular and reserve military units and watch as past and present armed forces personnel are presented with their veterans’ badges and service medals. In the afternoon, marching bands, standard-bearers and members of the Armed Forces will join together for the spectacular Beating Retreat, a military tradition dating back centuries, this year being led by RAF Cosford.
This year’s event will be extra special as a highlight of the day will be the honouring 6 Military Intelligence Company with Freedom of Dudley Borough as they are officially presented with their scroll by the Mayor of Dudley.
This event is supported by Fieldings Auctioneers and Thomas Jones Funfairs.
