How do you feel when you are laughing?
A deep, belly laugh that is so exquisite and contagious that you never want it to stop. A laugh that you share with your friends and family.
It feels so good, so uplifting and heartwarming. You feel connected with everyone around you.
This is how people feel when they engage in the aerobic exercise of 'Laughter Yoga'.
There is no need for comedy, humour or jokes - we laugh from our heart and soul with willingness and eye contact. It just flows and feels wonderful as our body chemistry changes as we release 'happy hormones' from our brain. It has been likened to the 'runner's high'.
There is a strategy to a laughter Yoga session that starts with warm ups of handclaps and uplifting chants. It is then the playful exercises bringing on the laughter that becomes so infectious and, with deep yogic breathing combined with the exercises, this is Laughter Yoga ... for wellness.
The intention of this 'FREE' session is to 'Laugh to promote World Peace and World Health' and will be practiced around the world on this day by Laughter Yogis as a celebration. We shall meet by the Hub Building at Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge (by the children's playground) and ... weather gods permitting ... will run the session outside.
Bring your family and friends - all are welcome.
It has been run since 1998 when Dr Madan Kataria, Founder of Laughter Yoga instigated it.
