Cradley residents have hit out at thieves who they believe to have stolen a memorial bench from Colley Gate.
‘Robbie’s Bench’, which honours local man Robbie Williams who died at the age of 46, has been outside Chainmakers Fish and Chip Shop for the last two months. It had previously sat in Lye for the past eight years.
But on Friday morning, it was found to have vanished. Local campaigners are appealing for the public’s help in tracing the bench, saying it had left Robbie’s family angry and devastated.
The appeal, posted on the Chainmakers Fish and Chip Shop's Facebook page, was viewed and shared almost 200 times in the first few few hours it was published.
