Police are investigating a serious assault on a 20-year-old man who was attacked outside Chiquito at Castle Gate just after 10pm last night.
Following the altercation, he was stabbed in the arm by the hooded man with what has been described as a 'large axe or knife'. The man was taken to hospital and remains there today. A spokesperson for the police said:
"We are investigating a serious assault after officers were called to Castle Gate retail park just after 10pm [last night] to a report of a hooded man attacking a man with what is described as a large axe or knife as he left the restaurant.
"The man was taken to hospital with an arm wound, where he remains today. Enquiries remain on-going and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference 20DY/33149F/18."
