Black Country Hub opens at Merry Hill Centre

(L-R) Black Country Radio chair, Keith Horsfall; BBC Radio WM’s PJ Ellis, Black Country Radio Breakfast presenter, Paul Essom and Black Country Hub General Manager, Dave Brownhill.

The best of the region is being celebrated at the Merry Hill Centre after the newly relocated Black Country Hub opened its doors for business.

Based in the centre since 2016 the Hub has moved to a new location, alongside Next on the upper mall and is open seven days of the week.

They stock a variety of clothing and merchandise, alongside music from local performers and prints from artists, including Stourbridge’s Janet Edwards.

General Manager, Dave Brownhill said: “It’s fantastic to see the Hub reopen and the support we’ve received from the public has been immeasurable.

“We’re really grateful to have worked with the team at Merry Hill to secure such a great location which means that we can reach even more people who want to celebrate the Black Country and its community.

“The Hub is a great place to buy gifts, clothing and merchandise but also a literal hub of the community where we hope to hold events and themed evenings.

“I’d urge anyone to come and see what we’ve got to offer - it’s a bostin’ selection!”

The new Black Country Hub was officially opened by radio presenter and Big Brother Star, PJ Ellis on Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Since opening, the Hub has been supporting the Human Appeal’s drive, to collect as many coats as possible for those less fortunate this Christmas.

Working in collaboration with Brierley Hill Market, Halesowen BID, Black Country Radio and BBC Radio WM, over 600 coats have been collected across the Black Country.

Dave added: “It was great to have PJ down to cut the ribbon and brilliant to be able to show our support for the Christmas Coat appeal.

“Once again, the Black Country showed its caring side and residents have made a real difference to the lives of others this Winter.”

The shop will be open from 10am until 6pm, Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
