Black Country Radio pays tribute to valued member

The team at Black Country Radio have paid tribute to a 'dedicated and tireless' supporter of the station who has lost her battle with cancer.

Karen Garry-Silvera was a board member for the stations parent company, Waterfront Media and a key figure for both Black Country Radio and Black Country Xtra.

She was also a lynchpin in the setup of the new Black Country Hub in the Merry Hill Centre.

Board chair, Keith Horsfall, led the tributes to Ms Garry-Silvera. He said: "It is with great sadness that we announce that we have lost one of our valued board members to cancer.

"Karen had become a key component in our operations, keeping us all on track with governance, helping to collate award submissions and more recently, a driving force in the establishment of a brand-new community hub.

"We will deeply miss her enthusiasm for all that we do, her integrity and her friendship."
