Hundreds of fun seekers flocked to Brierley Hill on Thursday (September 1) to enjoy a free family event.
More than 500 people made their way to the Moor Centre in Brierley Hill town centre, to enjoy the summer fun play day. The event was organised by Dudley Council as part of its Love Your Community campaign.
Children were entertained by giant games, chalk drawings, toys, sand pits, leisure activities, face painting and much more. There were information stalls by the road safety team, family information service and leisure centres. All of the activities and entertainment were free. Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said:
“The purpose of the day was to provide free family-friendly activities for children to help them enjoy the end of the summer holidays. We had great feedback on the day and I’m delighted that so many people came along.
“This is one of a series of events that we are organising in Brierley Hill. Plans for this year include a Halloween trail, Teenage Market and Christmas lights switch-on. Details on these activities will be announced closer to the time.”
