Birmingham’s biggest shopping centre was evacuated this afternoon amid reports a man had fallen from one of the raised floors inside the mall.
The incident happened at about 4pm when the centre was filled with shoppers. Members of the public took to Twitter to praise staff for their fast thinking and quick actions in the immediate aftermath.
A spokesman for the Bullring said: “We can confirm there was an incident at the centre this afternoon.
“Medical assistance was called immediately and the male in question has been taken to hospital by the emergency services for further medical attention.”
Debenhams and New Look have since reopened and shoppers are being allowed through.
