The popular Christmas at Delph Stables carol and crafting event is returning for the third year this December and is set to be “better than ever”.

Christmas cheer will return to the Brierley Hill canalside later this month, where attendees will be able to take part in free Christmas crafts, hot drinks, mince pies, and the chance to join in singing traditional Christmas carols.

Following a popular performance at last year’s event, organisers have confirmed that Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company will also be returning to give another performance of Christmas songs.

Children will have the chance to meet both Mr and Mrs Clause, and the Christmas carols will again be led by Pastor Adam Weldon and the team from Albion Street Church withlyric sheets provided so everyone can join in.

Canal & River Trust volunteers and staff have also been busy building new Christmassy props for the event, including a wooden steam train that will join Santa’s sleigh as a fun photo opportunity for families.

Gemma Coley from the Canal & River Trust, said: “I'm really looking forward to our third Christmas at the Delph event which quickly feels like it's becoming a tradition.

“It's amazing to think how this event started to where we are now and I really hope everyone that attends enjoys the special event again.”

Local councillor for Brierley Hill & Wordsley South, Adam Davies, has worked with Gemma and the Canal & River Trust on the event since its inception in 2022.

Cllr Davies, said: "We're so excited that Christmas at Delph Stables is now in its third year and should be better than ever.

"There will be the usual opportunity to join in with singing Christmas carols, songs performed by Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company and craft making that people are now used to at the event, but a few extras this year too.

"Canal & River Trust staff and volunteers have put so much effort in yet again to make this event great for the whole family, so we hope lots of local people will be able to join us again."

The event will take place on Saturday 21st December with the stables open for free craft activities, Santa’s grotto and hot drinks from 4:30pm.

At 5:00pm, Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company will perform a set of Christmas songs, followed by carols led by Albion Street Church (with lyric sheets provided so everyone can join in) from around 5:30pm.

No parking is available at Delph Stables so attendees are advised to travel by foot.
