Halesowen College students are once again gearing up for a festival of music and entertainment as its Mayfly festival returns this year.

Bands formed by music students will play live at Halesowen Town Football Club on Thursday 8 May.

Sponsored this year by ‘guitarguitar’ in Birmingham, there will be live music from college bands as they play ‘music from the movies’.  

Student bands that will be playing include Avenged (Marvel movies), Ingenous (Rock of Ages), Pitch Please (Pitch Perfect) and Our Swamp (Shrek movies). Guests can expect to hear some well-known tunes throughout the evening.

With the summer weather now on its way, there will be fantastic festival atmosphere to the night. From 6.00pm to 9.30pm food and drink stalls will be available with fairground rides and a photo-booth supplied by Special Events Photo Booths, giving people the opportunity for candid snaps.

Stephen Hollis, Music course leader at Halesowen College, said: “We are delighted to once again be running Mayfly. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to show off their skills and prepare them for a career in the music industry.”

Tickets cost £6 (under 5’s go free) and are on sale now. Tickets on the gate tickets will be £10.
