Members of Dudley Council’s ruling cabinet will be in Coseley this afternoon to talk to residents about concerns and issues - including proposals for a temporary travellers’ site.

The group, headed by council leader Councillor Qadar Zada, will be in Budden Road from 4.30pm today to speak to residents before a meeting of the informal cabinet at Christ Church C of E Primary School in Church Road.

It is part of a continuing drive by the leader to make senior politicians and decision makers more visible in the communities they serve, and follows on from a litter-pick by the cabinet in Pensnett just before Christmas. Cllr Zada, leader of the council, said:

"I want us to spend more time in the communities we serve and talk directly to the people that elect us. We will go to the residents and ask their views on any topics concerning them. We will also be knocking doors on the housing estate close to the Budden Road site to find out what people think and how we can help them.

"This cabinet won’t be stuck behind desks at the Council House shut away from the public – we will be out there speaking to people, listening to them and working to find solutions to local issues that affect them. We are elected to serve the people and that is what we will do.”
