New facilities are to be brought in at Sycamore Adventure in Dudley – thanks to a £50,000 cash injection from Dudley Council.
The cash will be used to develop the sensory room at the Sycamore Green site, as well as creating seating areas and developing a party area. The building will be newly decorated, kitchen facilities developed and new indoor play spaces created for children. Councillor Sue Ridney, cabinet member for children’s services, said:
"Sycamore Adventure is a much-loved and well-used facility which is open to all, irrespective of background. Developing the offer indoors at the site is crucial.
"At the moment attendance does tend to drop off during the winter and autumn months when the weather is not so great and the outside area becomes less attractive.
"These improvements will make the centre a much more attractive proposition for visitors all year round, and make the site more sustainable in the long run.”
The proposal to allocate the cash is expected to be approved at the next meeting of Dudley Council’s ruling cabinet on March 20th. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
