Dudley Council is set to soon welcome a new director of digital, customer and commercial services to continue to deliver value for money for residents.
Luisa Fulci will join the authority in April following a 16-year career at the Royal Mail where she played a pivotal role in modernising the service for customers. She began her Royal Mail career in 2005, working her way up to serve as Commercial Director for Consumers and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
During her time as commercial director at Royal Mail, Luisa led the digitisation and the commercial strategy for consumer and business services, which places her in good stead to deliver for Dudley borough. Commenting on her appointment, Luisa said:
"I’m really looking forward to understanding the needs of residents and the business community in Dudley. I want to understand how we can meet those needs in a targeted way and create a great customer experience for residents. It is vital that we deliver high quality services for residents and businesses while ensuring value for money for taxpayers.
"I will bring my experience in the NHS to my new role at Dudley. I want to explore how we can utilise technology to further integrate services for residents, such as between the council, the NHS and social care.
"I am excited by the varied nature of the role. In IT there is so much change and opportunity right now, so it is all about harnessing that technology to deliver a great customer experience for residents and businesses in Dudley, the capital of the Black Country, which has historically led the way in industrial innovation."
The new role means a new home for Luisa, and she cannot wait to explore the borough. Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet lead for commercial and customer services, said:
"I am very much looking forward to welcoming Luisa to Dudley Council. She joins the local authority at an exciting time as we continue to strive to deliver high-quality services for residents that demonstrate value for money for taxpayers, while working with and supporting businesses across the borough.
"Her track record at the Royal Mail speaks for itself, and her innovative forward thinking will help to revolutionise our customer services."
Luisa will take on the role of director of digital, customer and commercial services in April.
