Councillor Yvonne Davies has resigned as Leader of Sandwell Council with immediate effect.
Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Maria Crompton, will take on the duties and responsibilities of Leader, with full delegated powers.
There is no timescale for appointing a new Leader but, as and when that happens, it must be through Full Council.
