Dr Ranj had the chime of his life last week when he was shown the ropes by the Birmingham School of Bell Ringing at St. Pauls Church in the Jewellery Quarter.

The TV Doctor and presenter is playing the role of Spirit of the Bells in Birmingham Hippodrome’s Dick Whittington which enters its final performances this week.

Ranj joins one of Britain’s most celebrated stars Marti Pellow (The Ratman), Birmingham Panto favourite Matt Slack as Dick Whittington, musical sensation Suzanne Shaw as Alice and Birmingham favourite’s Doreen Tipton as Doreen the Cat and Andrew Ryan as Felicity Fitzwarren.

With sets and costumes from The London Palladium, spectacular special effects and plenty of audience participation, Dick Whittington is the perfect chance for audiences to come together and share the magic of live theatre.
