A Dudley Councillor has called for shoppers to consider others before stockpiling basic hygiene and food products following the Coronavirus emergency.
Councillor Shaun Keasey is concerned that the vulnerable and elderly will be left unable to purchase essential items due to stockpiling and profiteering. Shaun said:
"I am aware of elderly residents in Sedgley who have been to local supermarkets to find empty shelves. I'm calling on shoppers to think twice before stock-piling items and to consider the health and well-being of others.
"In situations like this we need to look out for and support each other. This applies to businesses also. A petrol station in Sedgley is selling a small bottle of hand sanitizer for £9.99 - this is unacceptable. I hope common sense and compassion prevails."
