Two ex-Dudley mayors will be getting on their bike to raise money for a two year-old girl, Isla, who’s receiving treatment in America for a rare condition.
Councillors Steve Waltho, who held the office of Mayor in 2015 and Melvyn Mottram, who was the first citizen in 2012, will attempt a total of 100 circuits of the bike track at Halesowen Athletics and Cycling Club on Sunday the 25 April - riding a tandem. Talking about the event on social media, Cllr Waltho said:
"My dear friend and myself are proud members of the Gentleman Songsters Male Voice Choir and. Isla is the granddaughter of our chairman. She has a rare Neuroblastoma and is receiving very advanced and hugely expensive treatment in the USA to literally give her the chance of life.
"Her family are putting everything into fundraising and are being supported by a specialist charity 'Solving Kids Cancer' in her treatment. Please consider supporting us and it would be great to see you at the event."
The event commences at 2pm on the 25th April at Halesowen Athletics and Cycling Club. To donate, click here.
