The family of a man who died following a collision in Walsall have paid tribute to him.
Richard James Cheshire was crossing Trinity Way, Walsall on Saturday 3rd August when he was hit by a silver Renault Clio.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, nothing could be done to save him and the 37-year-old passed away at the scene. Richard’s family have paid an emotional tribute to him, saying:
“We lost our son, brother, dad, grandad, cousin, uncle and friend to many, way too soon. We will never get over this heartache. You were taken so cruelly, our hearts are broken.
“Please, please if anyone has any information it will be appreciated no matter how big or small.”
Nayyib Mohammed, aged 24, of Marshall Street, Smethwick, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, added:
“Whilst this is a significant development, our investigation still continues. We know from CCTV that there were a number of motorists present at the time of the collision who have not yet come forward and I would appeal for them to get in touch.”
