A fast-rising singer taking the world of folk music by storm is headlining a show in Stourbridge next weekend, with a few tickets still available.
Singer-songwriter, Alex Hart from Devon, is appearing as part of the eagerly anticipated One Heart, One Way music event at The Talbot Hotel on Saturday May 25.
She will be supported on the night by local folk musicians Gary O’Dea and Catch The Rain. The event starts at 7.15pm and tickets cost £13 in advance from boroughhalls.co.uk, or £14 on the door.
It is one of a host of events taking place at venues across the town throughout the day and night on May 25. An outdoor stage under the clock on Stourbridge High Street will showcase live bands and musicians for free from 11am to 5pm.
Events are also running at Claptrap The Venue, The Mitre and The Duke William, while the headline show will see town favourites Ned’s Atomic Dustbin topping the bill at Stourbridge Town Hall. Kelly Martin, venue manager for Stourbridge Town Hall, said:
“One Heart One Way has been the motto emblazoned on Stourbridge’s civic heraldry since 1917. It has characterised so many aspects of the town’s history ever since, not least its musical heritage.
“For decades the town’s musical output has punched way above its weight to reach all corners of the globe, leaving a legacy that will live on for generations.
“Robert Plant, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Wonder Stuff and of course Ned’s Atomic Dustbin all enjoyed huge success after starting out on the scene in Stourbridge.
“One Heart One Way will be a collaboration with venues and businesses in the town to celebrate the immense influence of music in the town, past and present.
“We hope it will inspire a fresh wave of engagement in music lovers and players.”
