Two Wolverhampton men who threw glass bottles at a police car in a chase following a burglary in Kingswinford have been sentenced after pleading guilty.

25-year-old Craig Smith and Daniel Spencer, who’s 19, broke into KP Foods on New Year’s Eve in 2014, stealing £5,000 of cigarettes, cash and alcohol.

They then drove at speed through Kingswinford, Himley and Sedley, hurling the bottles at the police car and driving without their lights on to try and escape.

Smith was jailed for two years, while Spencer was given a 12 month sentence, suspended for a year.
