An elderly man collided with three other shoppers when he fell down an escalator at the Cornbow Shopping Centre in Halesowen yesterday.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to the Cornbow Shopping Centre in Halesowen after an elderly gentlemen fell over and three others were injured in the fall on an escalator.
“We sent two ambulances, a paramedic support officer and a critical care car from the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene.
“The air ambulance was also called but was stood down.
“Crews treated four patients at the scene. Two – a man and a woman – were taken to Russells Hall Hospital.
"Two females were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with more serious injuries."
Eve O’Connor, the Cornbow’s centre manager said, investigations are under way following the incident.
