Hagley Health Manager Who Defrauded NHS Avoids Jail

A senior health manager from Hagley who helped defraud the NHS out of more than £150,000 meant for elderly and vulnerable patients has been spared jail.

51 year-old Lisa Hill, of Stourbridge Road, admitted sending a false invoice to Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG when she was their senior commissioning manager in March 2013.

Alongside 59 year-old Dr Ian Walton, of Stourbridge Road, Wombourne, the pair raised the invoice from a mental health charity on whose board they both sat.

Nearly £60,000 of the money was spent on training GPs.They were both given two-year jail terms suspended for two years and ordered to pay back £76,800 each, within three months.
