Halesowen pensioner avoids jail for sexual assault

A Halesowen pensioner who carried out a sex attack on a married woman in Stourbridge has avoided a jail sentence.

85 year-old Joseph Colley, was told by a judge at Wolverhampton Crown Court he would not be sent to prison because he was frail and in poor health.

The woman had been staying with Colley at his then home in Stourbridge, while visiting a mutual friend in hospital, when he assaulted her in her room.

Colley, from Blackberry Lane, admitted sexual assault. He was given a 20 month jail term suspended for two years, and ordered to register as a sex offender.
