Himley Hall readies itself for Teenage Christmas Market

Unique gifts and home-made refreshments will be on offer at the Himley Hall Teenage Market this weekend.

Young entrepreneurs aged 12 – 22 will be selling their wares in the famous house which was the former family home of the Earls of Dudley.  It’s the perfect chance for shoppers to pick up a unique gift for Christmas.

Teenage Markets give young people the chance to showcase their creative products  and business ideas for free.  Shoppers looking for original Christmas bargains can explore 20 stalls.  Goods on offer range from arts, crafts and stationery, to jewellery, greetings cards, clothes and home-made cakes and biscuits. The day runs from 11am – 3pm.

While on site, visitors can also drop in for a spot of tea and cake at the Himley Tea rooms. Admission to the hall and the Teenage Market is free, with a small charge for parking. Cllr Ian Kettle, cabinet member for planning end economic development added:

“We established Teenage Markets to give young entrepreneurs the chance get hands-on experience in developing their own businesses.

“They learn the day to day skills needed to create, market and sell their products and get to do so in a safe and fun environment.

“We hope that each time they attend an event they learn more about the selling process and build up their skills for the future.”

Himley Hall is located between Dudley and Wolverhampton on the B4176, For more detail, go to theteenagemarket.co.uk.
