Police are investigating an attempted abduction in Quarry Bank earlier this week.
A 12-year-old girl was approached by a man in New Street at around 8:20am on Tuesday 3rd May. It's understood he grabbed her arm and pulled her. A passer-by saw what happened and stopped the incident.
The man - who is described as mixed race, aged 20 to 30, with brown hair and of medium build - then ran off in the direction of Bower Lane. Officers are conducting more patrols in the area and carrying out CCTV enquiries. A force spokesperson said:
"We're working hard to try and identify the man who helped the girl. He could have important information to help us identify the suspect. If it was you, please get in touch.
You can also contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk, quoting investigation number 20/358306/22."
