
Police are investigating after a girl was seriously injured following a collision in Walsall early yesterday morning.
Officers were called to Lichfield Road at just after 4.30am, following reports a Ford Focus had left the carriageway and struck a stationary vehicle on a driveway.
A 12-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and two others suffered minor injuries. The driver, a man aged 41, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to custody for questioning.
The road needed to be closed at the junction with Mellish Road for just over five hours for investigations to be carried out.
