Police have launched an investigation after finding a man’s body in his Halesowen home.
Officers gained entry to the address in Manor Lane just before 3.30pm on Monday following concerns raised by neighbours.
A post mortem examination held on Tuesday was not able to confirm the precise cause of death and more tests are needed.
However, the man’s death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched. Police have held the scene for a thorough forensic examination and are now conducting local enquiries. Detective Inspector Sangha from Force CID said:
“This is terribly sad. The man hadn’t been seen for several days, neighbours were getting no answer at the door, and unfortunately their fears were realised when our officers found the man inside.
“One of our specially trained Family Liaison Officers is supporting his loved ones at this difficult time.
“It’s unclear exactly when the man died but we believe it’s been a number of days.
“If anyone heard or saw anything suspicious in the area in recent days – dating back to the start of November – then I would urge them to get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 or message us on Live Chat through our website. Please reference log 1692 from 15 November.”
