A leading Black Country NHS Trust has signed up to a national feedback platform for health services, making it easier for patients to share their experience of their care.

Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has signed up to Care Opinion, which is the UK’s leading independent feedback website.

Care Opinion is a useful way for the Trust, which is the lead provider of mental health, learning disability and autism services in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton, to collect feedback from patients, visitors, relatives and carers.

Visitors to the site can share their experience of the Trust and see how the service has responded to comments.
It also gives individuals the chance to share their positive experiences and thank the people involved, or provide suggestions for improvements.

Services receive feedback to the site in real-time which allows staff to respond to feedback in a timely manner.
Matthew Petchey, Patient Experience Manager at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“I’m really pleased we are now signed up to Care Opinion as we have been expanding our channels for people to be able to provide their feedback about the care they receive and this is a significant step in that expansion.

“By receiving feedback in real-time, we can ensure we are responding to patients or their loved ones as quickly as possible to help improve their experience of care.

“As a Trust we are always looking to learn from those who come in to contact with our services about what it is we can do better whilst providing recognition to our staff and services that are doing well. So I urge people across the Black Country who experience our services to share their story on the Care Opinion website.”
