A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police officers were attacked with a machete in Dudley.
Officers were sent to a home in Price Street, Kates Hill to execute an arrest warrant. However, when they arrived at the property, police said a 42-year-old man responded 'violently' and 'lashed out at officers with a machete'.
He was subsequently arrested by armed police on suspicion of attempted murder. The officers only suffered minor injuries in the attack yesterday lunchtime.
A West Midlands Police spokesman: "Police visited an address in Price Street, Kates Hill, Dudley at 12.50 pm on Tuesday to execute an arrest warrant.
"On arrival at the address, a man responded violently and lashed out at officers with a machete.
"Officers thankfully only sustained minor injuries fending off the man and the 42-year-old man was arrested by armed police officers for attempted murder of the officers."
