A 61 year-old man’s been killed following a crash between a car and a lorry on a busy motorway near Halesowen.

Police blocked off the scene of what they described as a "serious collision" on the southbound lanes between junction 2 (Oldbury) and 3 (Halesowen).

The truck collided with a barrier and then came to a stop just before 5:15am, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said.

The victim, a 61-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but was later pronounced dead.
