A last call has gone out for the donation of coats to help vulnerable people stay warm this winter.
In partnership with Black Country Radio and BBC Radio WM, Brierley Hill Market have been acting as a collection point for donations of clean coats in a good condition that can be handed over to those who may struggle to stay warm throughout the winter months.
Natasha Bridgwater who runs the fruit and veg stall at the market said: “So many of us have a coat we don’t wear anymore, so why not pass it on to a good cause.
“We’re always here to help charities at the Market and hope we will have helped this year by taking donations for this campaign.”
Brierley Hill & Wordsley South councillor Adam Davies added: “It’s horrible to think there are people out there who are going to struggle to stay warm this winter; particularly pensioners who will now lose the support which has got them through in previous years.
“That said, it’s encouraging to see how many coats have already been donated and we hope there will be many more between now and Saturday.”
Good condition coats for men, women, boys and girls of all ages can be donated at the Market by Saturday 9th November. Opening days for the Market are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8am till 4pm.
