Local lifesaving organisation, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is set to virtually showcase its many volunteering opportunities in the upcoming, free to attend, national Volunteer Expo Online 2021.
Volunteering for good causes has been extremely popular in 2020 and 2021, as people are keen to give back to charities that are making a difference in their local area. In fact, during the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) reported 27 per cent of third sector organisations saw a rise in volunteer support.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity relies greatly on volunteer assistance in its charity shops and through fundraising, either at events or from home, which is why the lifesaving pre-hospital service is encouraging interested parties to attend the Volunteer Expo Online and find out more.
Hosted by Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland, Volunteer Expo Online is the first event of its kind in the UK, bringing together individuals and organisations from across the whole of the voluntary sector under one ‘virtual’ roof.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is one of the organisations in virtual attendance and will be showcasing the benefits of volunteering and the opportunities available to help support its lifesaving service and generate fundraising income. The charity is currently celebrating its Air30 30th anniversary, so it’s an exciting time to join the service’s volunteering family.
The charity prides itself in looking after its family of volunteers by providing a range of flexible opportunities including at fundraising events and within its five charity shops, restrictions permitting. The charity regularly nominates volunteers for awards and hosts meetings so that information is cascaded to supporters in a timely manner. Alison Hill, volunteer manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said:
“We are exhibiting at Volunteer Expo Online to celebrate the impact that our volunteers, fundraisers and supporters have on our charity and showcase the difference they make by helping us save lives across the West Midlands.
“Tickets for the event are free and we would love for the people of the West Midlands to pay us a virtual visit and discover all of the volunteering opportunities available at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.”
Volunteer Expo is taking place virtually on Friday 7th May and Saturday 8th May 2021. Book your free tickets at volunteerexpo.co.uk.
