MP chips in with praise for potato factory in Wombourne

Kingswinford and South Staffordshire MP Mike Wood has visited the area’s largest potato processing facility to meet with staff and hear about the results of £17m investment.

During the visit Mr Wood toured the facilities and heard how recent investment of £17m over the last four years has helped boost efficiency and secured the factory’s future.

Mike said: “It was great to visit the McCain factory and see first-hand how significant investment in recent years have helped secure the future of this important employer here in South Staffordshire.

“With 127 local people directly employed at the site, it’s a great example of business providing much needed jobs for our community.”

Adam Moloney, Plant Manager at McCain Foods Wombourne, said: “We were pleased to welcome our local MP Mike Wood to our Wombourne site this morning. During a tour of the factory, we highlighted the results of the recent £17m investment we’ve made into the facility.

“We’re really proud to have been in Wombourne for almost 30 years, and look forward to being here for years to come.”
