There will be fun in the sun at Himley Hall and Park this August with events set to include a touring family production of Wind in the Willows.

The promenade production of the childhood favourite Wind in the Willows takes place on Wednesday 21 August featuring Ratty, Mole, Badger and the unstoppable Mr Toad.

The Attic Door’s acclaimed production will run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and tickets cost £8 each and people are urged to book online in advance.

The Black Country Brass Band will perform in the park on Sunday 11 August from 2.30pm to 5pm. Children can dig and play in sand without needing to head to the seaside thanks to the huge summer sandpit at the park until Thursday 29 August.

Anyone visiting the hall and park throughout the month can also see a collection from 13 women artists living and working in the West Midlands. The ‘Take 13 Artists’ work ranges from painting, textiles, mosaics, sculpture and mixed media work and will be on display until the end of September. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for halls, said:

"Himley Hall and Park is a beautiful spot to take time out from busy schedules during the summer and it’s wonderful to see what’s on offer this August.

"The Wind in the Willows performance looks set to be the perfect piece of holiday fun and I am sure the entertainment will prove popular with families."
