A man who was found with head injuries in Halesowen in the early hours of Friday (9 September) has died in hospital this morning.
Detectives are now treating the death as murder. Two men aged 23 and 58 who are both from the South Yorkshire area were arrested yesterday on suspicion of GBH. The pair have been bailed pending further investigation.
Karl Swift (pictured), aged 33 and from South Yorkshire, was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being found on New Road at around 12.30am.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines, from Force CID, said: “Our investigation is progressing and while we have now made two arrests we still need to speak to any witnesses who were in the area late on Thursday night into Friday morning.
“We still believe there may have been an incident at the William Shenstone Wetherspoons pub in Halesowen prior to the victim leaving and we would ask anyone with information to call 101 as soon as possible.”
