Merry Hill has welcomed the fast-growing Australian coffee shop chain Gloria Jeans, as the centre continues to bring new and exciting food and drink options to its shoppers.
Gloria Jeans opened its first UK store in 2019 and has since grown to more than 23 stores across the country, fast becoming a popular coffee shop renowned for its speciality gourmet coffee.
The new coffee shop opened its doors last week on the Upper Mall near H&M, creating 10 additional jobs in the centre.
Customers can choose from coffees with seasonal twists as well as decadent ‘bits & pieces’ milkshakes, with flavours ranging from Rocky Road and Cookies & Cream to Kit Kat and Iced Chocolate.
Gloria Jeans sources its coffee from ethical producers, ensuring a fair trade for both workers and the environment - and works with farmers to create its own unique coffee blends that it roasts to order itself.
The new store is yet another exciting addition to the thriving food and drink scene at the shopping destination, following on from the arrival of a new branch of Pizza Hut, artisan bakery Batch’d and family-owned bakery The Brownie Box in March, along with leading authentic German bratwurst fast-food brand, Extrawurst, which opened its first UK restaurant at Merry Hill in January. Bilal Shafiq, Manager at Gloria Jeans said:
“Every day our team serves up more than 90,000 delicious coffees in more than 50 countries around the world. Since opening our first coffee shop in the UK in 2019 we’ve seen demand for our drinks rocket.
“As one of the leading shopping destinations in the region, we can’t think of a better place than Merry Hill to open our new coffee shop and expand our presence across the West Midlands.”
Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at Merry Hill added: “We’re delighted to welcome Gloria Jeans.
“They’ve got a fantastic approach to coffee and offer our visitors another great reason to catch up with friends and family at the centre or take a break during their visit.”
