A new craft brewery has been launched by the granddaughter of John Sadler at the breweries former home in Lye.
Opening at the end of last month, Print Works Brewery is inspired by the family heritage and tradition of the Sadler family and see’s Emily Bedford and her husband Gareth launch a brand new small batch craft brewery at The Windsor Castle Inn.
Emily’s father and grandfather, Jack and John Sadler, first started their family printing and publishing business in the town when the printing industry was booming in the early 1980s.
In 2004, John’s pipe dream came true when he packed up the print business, went back to university and transformed the print works into a brewing haven following in the footsteps of his great great grandfather Thomas back in Oldbury in the late 18th century.
Since then the original brewery has grown & moved on from its smaller beginnings at The Windsor Castle inn leaving room for a new craft brewery to get creative.
Emily, inspired by her fathers creativity and passion for brewing beer, has created a brand new craft brewery, producing small batches of craft beer to serve in her and her husbands well loved pub The Windsor Castle Inn. Emily said:
“We are still massive supporters of Sadler’s ales and are excited to showcase many of their fantastic beers along side our own craft range, now being brewed on site at Printworks.
“Expect brews with attention to detail, focused on quality and taste with ingredients sourced from local farms across Hereford and Worcester.”
Brewery tours and craft beer masterclasses will soon be available at The Windsor Castle.
