PIZZASQR is launching the first of a new chain of grab and go pizza restaurants at the centre later this year.
The brand's new concept site will open this summer as the centre's owners prepare to invest £100 million to replicate the successful leisure offer of its other locations across the UK.
PIZZASQR will sell artisanal square pizza slices and is on its way to becoming one of the biggest pizza chains in the country with plans to open 100 stores in the next five years, each priding themselves on the quality of their highly appetizing pizza. Davide Cason, operations manager at PIZZASQR said:
“If there’s one thing I believe, it’s that pizza doesn’t need to be complicated! Our menu will combine the freshest ingredients, seasonal toppings and expert craftsmanship to create, based on authentic recipes from Rome, pizza everyone is going to love!
"Through the week, we will also serve freshly made sandwiches, soups, pastries and of course, authentic Italian coffee. intu Merry Hill is a fantastic destination with enormous potential as a key dining location - it’s really exciting to be launching our first PIZZASQR there.”
intu plans to build a 180,000 sq ft leisure extension at intu Merry Hill that will introduce more new restaurants and an on-site cinema. Nick Round, regional managing director at intu, said:
“We’re investing millions to transform intu Merry Hill and provide the very best customer experience and our plans are clearly paying off with more and more brands selecting the centre as a destination where they can thrive.
“Exciting new dining concepts like PIZZASQR are a key focus of our plans to update the centre’s leisure offer while intu’s nationwide portfolio of the UK’s best and most popular shopping destinations means we’re well placed to help new concepts expand across the country.”
A number of popular retail brands are also investing in new space at intu Merry Hill with Next and Primark both opening bigger stores later this year.
