Oldbury children release charity Christmas single

Children and staff from Bristnall Hall Academy in Oldbury are hoping to reach the Christmas charts with their charity single, 'O Holy Night'.

Staff from Sandwell and and West Birmingham Hospital Trust, local ward councillor and school governor Carol Goult with Bristnall Hall students and staff - collectively known as The Heartbeats Choir - performed the song at the official launch of the charity single on Monday 26 November.

All funds raised by the charity single will got to 'Your Trust', the charity run by Sandwell and and West Birmingham Hospital Trust who look after Sandwell, City and Rowley Regis Hospitals. Councillor Simon Hackett, cabinet member for children's services said:

"The single has brought the whole community together so I urge everyone to download a copy of O Holy Night to raise money for this very worthy cause."

The single was produced by former Bristnall Hall pupil James Callaghan who now works as sound designer for BBC show, Doctor Who.

Vince Green, Principal at Bristnall Hall Academy, added:

“This is an amazing initiative from Your Trust Charity raising funds for such a very worthy cause. Students and staff at Bristnall Hall Academy were honoured to be invited to host the recording and sing with staff from the Trust who kindly committed their time and talent to the single.

"It will be great to see this charity single being well supported by people from our community and beyond.”

The single is available for download on all major music sites including iTunes and Google Play.
