An Oldbury man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shots were fired from a car in a “reckless” attack earlier this week.
Police received a call on Monday evening reporting a firearm being shot from a vehicle in Arthur Street, Birmingham near the junction with Bolton Road, in Small Heath.
An investigation was carried out, and a vehicle believed to be involved in the attack was stopped yesterday morning - a 27-year-old man is now being questioned. Detective Inspector Tom Hadley from Force CID, said:
“It’s understood to have been a targeted shooting and that the offender knew the intended victim.
“Fortunately no-one was injured but clearly discharging a firearm in public, especially in late afternoon when many people will have been out and about, is a hugely reckless act and could have had fatal consequences.
“If anyone witnessed the shooting or has any information about who may have been involved then I’d urge them to call us so we can bring the offenders to justice.”
No-one was hurt during the incident. Officers are urging anyone with information to dial 101.
