One free garden waste collection this month for Sandwell residents

Sandwell residents with garden waste from the winter months can put out their bin for one free collection.

Bin crews will be out across Sandwell during the weeks beginning 13 and 20 March to make one free garden waste collection on residents’ usual bin day.

All garden waste, including any chopped up Christmas trees, must be inside the bin with the lid closed.

Residents are asked to put out their garden waste bin from 13 March on their usual bin collection day. If the garden waste bin is not collected during that week, residents are asked to put it out again on their usual collection day in the week beginning 20 March. Councillor Zahoor Ahmed, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for environment, said:

“Crews from our waste partner Serco will pop round over these two weeks to collect garden waste. This is an opportunity for residents to clear any garden waste they have from the winter months free of charge.”

To continue to receive collections from Monday 27 March onwards, residents must subscribe and pay.
