Pair avoid jail for assault on man with learning difficulties

Two Netherton men who punched a man with learning difficulties have avoided a prison sentence.

Geoffrey Hill and Joshua Woodall admitted assaulting a man from Wordsley after driving him to the Clent hills.

Hill and Woodall were said to be friends of the victim, but they left him with a pair of black eyes, a nose injury and bruising Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

29 year old Hill from Old Level Way has a previous conviction for wounding and was given an eight month jail term, suspended for two.

Woodall aged 20 from Worcester road was given 150 hours community work and must pay £400 compensation and £200 worth of costs.
