Parents and carers in Sandwell can now apply for school places if their child is due to start high school or reception in September 2019.

Schools in Sandwell are holding a number of open evenings to help parents and children choose the best school for them. Applications can be made online on Sandwell Council's website. Parents can also find a list of school open days and evenings at the same address.
 
Applications for secondary school places need to be made before Wednesday 31 October and before Tuesday 15 January 2019 for primary school places. Applications are not dealt with on a first come, first served basis. Councillor Simon Hackett, cabinet member for children's services said:

"Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions parents and carers make for their child. I urge parents and carers to go along to open days and evenings to help them choose the right school for their children."
