A woman is in a very serious condition after being injured in a hit and run collision in Halesowen on Friday night.
The pedestrian, aged 52, was struck by a blue Audi on Long Lane at around 8.30pm.
She was rushed to hospital with a head injury, and is undergoing emergency treatment. Her injuries are thought to be life-changing.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene.
A 26-year-old was arrested from an address in Oldbury and is being held in custody on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. Detective Sergeant Alan Hands from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
"A woman is in a serious condition in hospital, awaiting major surgery and we want to establish exactly how that happened.
“I appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken to us, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch."
