The Mayor of Dudley’s charities are set to be bowled over by the latest fundraiser – a cricket match between councillors and staff at Dudley Council.
Stourbridge Cricket Club is hosting the event which will see the teams go head-to-head in a 20-overs-a-side game.
Spectators are welcome and all money raised will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities - Black Country Toy Appeal, Tough Enough to Care and Macmillan Cancer. The match takes place on Friday July 1, from 6pm, at the Memorial Ground, Amblecote, before a raffle and an auction. Councillor Sue Greenaway, Mayor of Dudley, said:
"This is always a really fun event but also raises some much needed money for three very worthwhile causes. I hope people will come along and support us on the night and a huge thank you to everyone involved."
Stourbridge Cricket Club has offered to host the game for free at their ground in support of the charities. The game has been organised by former Mayor, Councillor Mohammed Hanif.
