Plans to extend a busy community car park to help serve local residents have been revealed.
Dudley Council will be submitting a planning application to extend the car park behind the community centre on Enville Road in Wall Heath.
The car park serves the community centre, scout hut and Wall Heath Tennis Club plus football teams who use the adjacent field to train. The plan is to add an additional ten spaces to the car park to ease the pressure at busy times.
The work is expected to cost in the region of £18,000 and would be funded through section 106 money. Councillor Shaz Saleem, cabinet member for highways and public realm, said:
"This is a very busy car park, which serves hundreds of people in the local community. By expanding it, we can help ease congestion at busy times and increase accessibility to amenities.
"We’re only looking to add ten additional spaces. To do this will we need to use a small, grassed area, which is why we need to seek planning approval."
A planning application is due to be submitted later this year.
