Firearms officers arrested three teenagers in Tipton after a 999 call reported them brandishing a large knife.
Armed cops were deployed to Upper Church Lane at 4.30pm last Thursday where two 16-year-old’s, from Dudley and West Bromwich, plus a 15-year-old Smethwick boy were arrested.
All three were searched and officers recovered a hunting-style knife, a knife sheath, balaclavas, a large pair of scissors and a small quantity of cannabis.
They were arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and spent the night in police custody. A spokesperson for the force said:
“Shocking that three school-age boys should be walking the streets with a knife.
“Great work from our firearms officers in reaching the scene swiftly, seizing a knife and making arrests.”
