Residents of more than 50 streets across the West Midlands are to benefit from a crime prevention blitz that will see officers handing out forensic property marking kits in a bid to beat burglars.
It’s part of a crime prevention scheme called Track & Trace aimed at driving down crime in key areas.
The home coding kits come with a DNA solution that can be dabbed on valuable items to deter thieves, help police recover stolen items and link offenders to break-ins.
Streets have been selected from every Neighbourhood Police Unit in the region, including Birmingham, the Black Country, Solihull and Coventry.
