The sounds of the 60s and 70s are coming live to Dudley Town Hall next year – led by golden oldie DJs Tony Blackburn and Johnnie Walker.
Sounds of the 60s Live, hosted by Blackburn, has been touring the UK this year and will now be extended into 2020. It comes to Dudley Town Hall on Saturday March 14th, featuring songs, stories and memories from the golden decade of pop. Music will be performed live by the Sounds Of The 60s All Star Band & Singers.
Following the success of the 60s tour, legendary DJ Walker will take Sounds of the 70s show on the road next year, with a date in Dudley at the town hall on Friday June 5th.
The brand new live show will be hosted by Walker, who will offer his personal stories and memories from the 1970s. A live band and singers will also perform an array of classic hits from throughout the decade. Alex Jackson, booker for Dudley Borough Halls, said:
"Our audiences are in for a real treat with these two very special shows – featuring a raft of songs, stories and memories. Tony and Johnnie are both bona fide broadcasting legends and we can’t wait to welcome them to Dudley."
Johnnie Walker added: "It’s a real treat for me to be taking my Sounds of the 70s radio show on the road. It’s going to be a great celebration and sing song of one of the greatest decades in music.
"We’ll talk about the artists who made it so special and will have an incredible band performing all those classic 70s hits."
Tickets for the two shows cost between £30 and £40 and are available online at boroughhalls.co.uk, or by calling the box office on 01384 812812.
