The results of a roadshow in which more than 700 people were asked how they felt about where they lived will be made public at an event next week.
Dudley Council will be hosting the 'Big Breakfast Feedback Event' at Dudley Town Hall on Saturday November 4th. The event will start with a cooked breakfast at 8.45am, with the event itself starting at 10am.
In July, council housing officers hopped into a camper van and embarked on a whistle-stop tour of the borough. Their task was to find out more about how people felt about where they lived, as well as their future housing aspirations.
Staff and community volunteers took part in the roadshow to gather residents’ views through surveys and activities. The feedback event will reveal and review the findings and discuss the way forward. Residents will be able to attend by pre-booking a place. Councillor David Vickers, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for housing, said:
“This is an opportunity for residents to get more involved and meet other like-minded people, see the feedback from the roadshow and engage with senior council officers.
“There will be frank discussions about the future of housing and the challenges faced by the council. Demand for places is usually very high, so if you are interested and want to come along we suggest you book your place as soon as possible.”
The eight-day roadshow visited 19 locations across the borough. At each location the camper van housed a video diary pod, while council staff and community volunteers were also on hand to speak to residents. All those who took part were entered into a free prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher. People attending on the day can still enter the prize draw, which will be made on the day.
